EKOS Corporation, a Bothell-based medical device company, announced June 7, 2010 that they received a $2.7 million grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for the development of a product to provide therapy for intracerebral hemorrhagic stroke. EKOS announced a groundbreaking study for brain clot removal using their technology in February 2010.
